February 12

Class

We will complete the second index card assignment.

  • Take out your drawings A-Z
  • Choose and arrange at least 8 cards to make a story (if you included text in your drawings, you may have to ignore it)
  • Create your story on computer paper

Remember that I have jury duty on February 14. This is the day your haiku comics are due. Hold onto them to turn in on the 19th.

Instead of coming to class, then, you must decide what you want to do for your comic book. Please write about your plan in your comp book.

Also, do the following exercises in your comp book.  Spend no more than 10 minutes on each:

  1. Write a scene involving a grandfather. Do one drawing to go along with the scene.
  2. Two of your characters haven’t gotten any sleep. Write about it. Do one drawing to go along with the scene.
  3. Write a scene that begins: “Yesterday I felt out of place.” Do one drawing to go along with the scene.
  4. Write a scene that begins: “I used to long for _______.” Do one drawing to go along with the scene.
  5. Write a scene based on the following topic: THREE REASONS TO WRITE ABOUT GHOSTS. Do one drawing to go along with the scene
  6. Write a scene about morning. Do one drawing to go along with the scene.
